Product Description

Technical Data

Applications

Self-priming pumps are a type of centrifugal pump that can operate even when air is mixed with the liquid. Unlike standard pumps, which require manual priming to remove air from their system, self-priming pumps are designed to ensure a continuous flow of liquid, allowing them to start up without any additional equipment.

Denor-group is more than a manufacturer—we are your global partner in industrial and municipal waste handling. With decades of expertise, a reputation for uncompromising quality, and a streamlined logistics network enabling fast delivery worldwide, we provide the most reliable self-priming pump solutions on the market.

How It Works: The Air Separation Principle

The pump’s unique self-priming action relies on a continuous recirculation process:

  • Initial Start: The pump casing is filled with liquid before the first start.
  • Air Removal: As the impeller rotates, it creates a vortex that mixes air from the suction line with the liquid in the casing.
  • Separation: This air-liquid mixture enters the integrated separation chamber. Air is discharged through the outlet, while the heavier liquid settles and returns to the impeller via a recirculation port.
  • Full Prime: This cycle repeats, evacuating all air from the suction line, until the pump achieves full prime and begins pumping at rated capacity.

Why Choose the Self-priming pumps?

  • High Suction Lift:  Achieves a suction lift of up to 8 meters (26 feet) without the need for foot valves or external priming systems.

  • Robust Mechanical Seal: Equipped with a heavy-duty, oil-lubricated mechanical seal with replaceable seal faces, ensuring long life even when handling abrasive or dirty liquids.

  • Easy Maintenance:  The back pull-out design allows the rotating assembly (bearing bracket, impeller, and shaft) to be removed without disturbing the suction or discharge piping, simplifying inspections and repairs.

  • Solids Handling Capability:  Specially designed volute and impeller options (including vortex impellers) allow for the passage of spherical solids up to 75mm (3 inches) in diameter, reducing the risk of clogging.

  • Corrosion Resistance:  Constructed from high-quality materials including Cast Iron, Stainless Steel (304/316), and Aluminum Bronze to suit a wide range of chemical compatibilities and environmental conditions.

Need Help Selecting the Right Pump?

Selecting the correct pump depends on three critical factors:

  • Flow Rate (m³/h or GPM)
  • Total Head (meters or feet)
  • Fluid Characteristics (viscosity, temperature, solids content, corrosiveness)

Our experienced engineers are ready to assist you in finding the perfect match for your application.
