A cutter/grinder pump is different from a sewage lift pump. Each sewage grinder pump contains a cutting mechanism to process solids effectively. Sewage lift pumps lack this mechanism, so they cannot process harder solids. Additionally, grinder pumps are more powerful than lift pumps, which can effectively crush solid debris in sewage, such as toilet paper, cloth strips, etc., to ensure smooth sewage discharge.
