A multi-stage vertical pump is a type of centrifugal pump that has at least two impellers with a shared motor. The rotation motion of the impeller which is driven by an electric motor directs the fluid through the outer tip of the impeller vane and then enters the stage diffuser. The more impellers, the higher the pressure range. Common fields include secondary water supply for high-rise residential and office buildings, solving the problem of insufficient floor water pressure and ensuring stable water pressure.
The pumps are available in different materials (Cast Iron, 304SS, 316SS) and in different head and flow rates.
CDL vertical multistage pump: Standard construction typically uses cast iron. It is suitable for slightly corrosive liquid.
CDLF vertical multistage pump: Stainless Steel (e.g., AISI 304 or 316) wetted parts, suitable for clean water, slightly corrosive liquids, or applications requiring hygiene (potable water, food processing). It is suitable for slightly corrosive liquid.
Core Design
Vertical Configuration:
1. The motor is mounted directly above the pump body, connected via a rigid coupling or flange.
2. This results in an exceptionally small installation footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained environments like equipment rooms or skids.
Multistage Arrangement:
1. Multiple impellers and diffuser (stages) are stacked in series on a single vertical shaft.
2. Liquid enters the bottom suction port, is pressurized by the first impeller, and is then guided sequentially through each subsequent stage. Pressure is cumulative, with the final discharge from the top outlet.
3. The number of stages can be adjusted to meet specific head requirements.
