Applications
A QSZ vertical axial flow pump is a high-volume, low-head, submersible pump designed for applications like drainage, flood control, and irrigation, often featuring large, angle-adjustable impellers for broad flow ranges. It works by pushing water along the same direction as the pump shaft, providing stable, energy-saving operation for large quantities of water, and is available in various configurations including floating, well-hanging, and pool-hanging installations.
The QSZ vertical submersible axial flow pump is connected with the motor and works in the water at the same time. It can be operated remotely or controlled automatically. No pump house (pump station) can be built, and no ground building facilities are required, thus greatly saving the investment of station construction.The machine also has the advantages of simple structure, convenient installation, use and maintenance, and the electric motor adopts water-filled structure, which ensures the safety and reliability of the electric pump during operation, and also has the advantages of high efficiency of the pump station device.
Features
High flow, low head:
These pumps are optimized for moving large volumes of water with relatively low pressure.
Angle-adjustable impeller:
The blades can be adjusted to suit specific customer needs, allowing for a wider range of flow rates and performance.
Submersible design:
The pump and motor are combined in a coaxial design, reducing shaft loss and increasing durability.
Robust materials:
Often made from cast iron or stainless steel, designed for reliability in various water conditions.
Integrated safety features:
Many models include leakage and temperature detection devices to prevent motor damage from overheating or leaks.
Versatile installation:
They can be installed in various ways, including wellbore hanging, pool hanging, or fixed on a pontoon. Significantly reducing civil construction costs compared to traditional dry-installed pumps.
Ease of Maintenance:
Equipped with guide rails and lifting chains for quick retrieval without entering the wet well.
Typical Applications
Urban stormwater drainage and flood control
River and lake water circulation
Agricultural irrigation and drainage
Industrial water supply and cooling systems
Wastewater treatment plant intake pumping
Advantages over Traditional Axial Flow Pumps (e.g., QZ)
Reduced civil engineering requirements (no large pump house or separate motor room);
Lower noise and vibration at ground level;
Simpler installation and alignment;
Suitable for automated/remote operation.
The QSZ vertical axial flow pumps represent a modern, integrated approach to axial flow pumping, increasingly favored in municipal, environmental, and industrial projects due to their space-saving design and operational efficiency.

Municipal Engineering
Vertical axial pumps are the core part of municipal water supply and drainage system due to their features of large flow rate and less maintenance requirements.
Agricultural Irrigation
Ideal for lifting water from rivers, canals, or reservoirs to irrigate large farmlands, as it can handle the high flow rates required.
Flood Control and Drainage
Widely used in pumping stations to quickly move massive amounts of water from flooded areas (cities, agricultural fields) to rivers or seas.
Industrial Circulation
Commonly used in power plants, refineries, and large factories to circulate cooling water through condensers and cooling systems.
Water Transfer Projects
Essential in large-scale aqueducts or cross-basin water transfer schemes where water needs to be lifted only a short height but over massive volumes.
Shipbuilding Drainage
The vertical axial flow pumps serve as the dry dock pumps in shipbuilding plants to evacuate the large a mount of water from the dock during the manufacturing and repairing process of ships.
